Le photographe Christophe Jacrot sort un nouveau livre aux éditions h’Artpon intitulé Snjór, qui signifie littéralement «neige» en Islandais. Il a débuté il y a près de dix ans ce projet sur les intempéries qui l’a conduit à immortaliser les grandes villes de l’hémisphère Nord, sous la pluie comme sous la neige. Une neige qui, avec le réchauffement climatique, se fait de plus en plus rare : « Voilà ainsi trois ans que je désespère de ne plus pouvoir faire des images d’hiver en Europe, dit-il. En quête d’un monde à la fois peuplé et enneigé, j’ai trouvé l’Islande (…). Ce pays m’a permis de m’évader des mégapoles que j’ai tant arpentées et de redécouvrir les grands espaces » explique le photographe dans la préface de son nouveau livre, qui regroupe 40 photographies réalisées au fil de 5 voyages, entre fin 2014 et mi-2016.



Photographer Christophe Jacrot publishes a new book entitled “Snjór”, which means “snow” in Icelandic. Christophe Jacrot began nearly ten years ago this project on weather that led him to immortalize the great cities of the northern hemisphere in the rain and in the snow. A snow that, with global warming, is becoming increasingly rare, ” For the last three years I despaired of not being able to make images of winter in Europe, he said. In search of a world both populated and snowy, I found Iceland (…). This country allowed me to escape megacities as I surveyed, and rediscovered the outdoors, “says the photographer in the preface of his new book, which includes 40 photographs taken over five trips between late 2014 and mid-2016. ”
