WAITING FOR CANAL IN NICARAGUA
In June 2013, president Daniel Ortega promised the end of poverty: he signed a 50 year concession, renewable for another 50 years, to the Hong Kong Nicaragua Canal Development company, in order for them to build an inter-oceanic canal three times larger than the Panama canal. The Nicaraguan who will be directly affected don't know the conditions under which their lands have been sold, nore do they know when they'll have to leave. In 2014, Adrienne Surprenant went to meet them, travelling accros the futur canal road, from one ocean to the other.
Today, 4 years after the opening of the construction site, the building of the Nicaragua canal has stopped. This paralysis seems to be related to the bankrupcy of the main investor, Wang Jing.
