RUSSIE : Les journalistes indépendants en danger
  Russia: journalism under attack.  
 

Russia is one of the most dangerous countries for journalists in the world. Eighteen journalists have been slain in Russia since 2000, with all but one case unsolved. Many more have been attacked, threatened or imprisoned. The lack of freedom of speech in this country is the mirror of a blocked process towards democracy. I just started the work on this theme on 2009. I was in Moscow for ten days and I photographed concerned journalists and symbolic places related to the theme under reporting. Now I would like to go on travelling in the North of Caucasus and in the periphery of Russia. It is important to report the current situation in Russia for two main reasons: 1) it has never been told by a photojournalistic story 2) to make aware the international public opinion.
